Modern Thrash
Bin trying to broaden my horizons a bit and sytart listening to stuff beyond the 80's and the new retro thrash wave. Some pretty awesome bands out there. Anyone heard dew-scented or the haunted, fucking awesome shit. What other bands are there out there? and if you don't like any of the more modern thrash, why the fuck not?

BTW - I like a lot of that modern shit - modern old-school bands + bands with modern sound..!
And if you're not a metal head then you might as well be dead...

And I don't like much of the modern thrash cause i hate core vocals. The riffs often sound like watered down thrash riffs making them groove, the drums sound so clicky and triggered and the production is often to clean taking away from any bite.
Some bands like Hororscope, and Scornage are good cause they mix a fair bit of thrash in their groove.

I really liked Tempo of the Damned when it came out. I still think it's a great album for what it is. Otherwise, I'd just say listen to Laaz Rockit (or better still, The Eagles) or something.

Because we know what we're talking about.
I've seen Dew Scented live two or three times, and they were alright, but I wouldn't buy an album. The Haunted are alright, but they are essentially a poor mans Slayer, with shouty vocals.
Yuo'll be telling us that fucking Shadows Fall are thrash next.

Severaith are, without doubt, the worst band I have ever heard in my 21 years here.
Singer couldn't be more on the ball when he states - "THIS!....NEEDS!.....WORRRRRRK!!"

I remember a Nirvana tune, 'I Hate Myself and I Want to Die.' As much as I like Kurt Cobain. I can't have people like that coming over here, on smack, fucking saying that they hate themselves and they wanna die. That's fucking rubbish. Kids don't need to be hearing that non-sense.

Nah actually i hate shadows fall, thats some bad music. I love it how some people on this forum get so touchy whenever you mention a band that doesn't wear burmuda shorts singing about toxic waste. Theres some decent new bands out there coming into the public eye and it'd serve you well to not disregard anything that doesn't follow in the vein of straight forward copycat thrash.Because we know what we're talking about.

Bah hahaha!
Are Severaith for real?!
That's some funny shit.
Yeah man they're a local band. We've bin on the same bill as them one time, was a fucking joke. The vocalist was shouting "mosh pit" in the middle of a cover of 'milkshake'. The crowd just stood there

You obviously have no idea with whats going on.
As for modern thrash, here i would say. Damnas, Mutant..... there are loads.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.
Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

Re: Modern Thrash
In what way do you mean. I like a lot of the old and new retro thrash. I have all exodus' albums, various other bands (testament, slayer, kreator, destruction, cryptic slaughter, nuclear assault etc) the list goes on. And as for the new thrash wave i was listening to evile for ages before they released their first album along with other new thrash bands ie MW, pitiful reign etc. I just don't restrict myself to listening to one form of music, or as in some people's cases one form of metalYou obviously have no idea with whats going on.
