pleasures of the flesh is well good, only let down is the production and that constant 'exodus beat' (dubchi dubachi dubchi dubachi)... the songs are pretty immense though!!! gotta love chemi-kill

Agreed. Along with Chemi-Kill, my favourites on that album are Brain Dead, Parasite and Til Death Do Us Part (the original album title for the trivia fans out there).

Bill, your opinion on Exodus is infamously rubbish, although I'm glad you no longer consider BBB to be 'gay'.

I think Impact is average and Pleasures struggles with production, but Temp, BBB and Fabulous Disaster are three of my favourite albums ever.

Im gonna be totally honest now, and here are my views on exodus:

Bonded by blood was seriously one of my favourite albums back in the mid 80s, but i do think it has not aged too well, still good, but not as good as many other albums of its era nowadays. Zetro is a shit vocalist. I really dont like his voice!! The testament songs sound so much better on the album than when zetro used to sing them. Virtually everything ive heard post BBB was not very good to be honest (apart from the awesome live CD). I remember the 3 track demo they did after BBB, and couldnt wait to hear it, but it was pretty shit!! They were better pre BBB than post FACT!!!!!

I did actually find the tape the other day with the hour+ long interview i did with gary holt for our zine, which never actually got published. May listen to it and see if there are any worthy quotes to put up here. It was done at the time of the ANother lesson in violence live CD, and i do remember gary saying something about Bailoff becoming an alcoholic beach bum after exodus for a while

R2-D2 over there...

Anyway, got the latest Terrorizer today. First listen and I was confused by the Exodus track. Some of it was wicked - really, really impressive. However, the cleaner 'singing' didn't really sit comfortably with me and the solos were also a problem. I know this'll probably sound silly but it sounded quite, I don't know, bland or generic - as if they could have come from almost any Euro Melodic Death band. Not bad at all but not Exodus.

There's an unseen fortune under their belts
Are golden temples a symbol of God's way
This horde of wealth is a sickening display"
