Here's one for ya...
My band comes from a country that used to belong to communist part of Europe.
We looked at West with some hope and admiration and hoping some day we'll be part of it...
Several good bands came to be and some survived until today. My band Sarcasm is the oldest active thrash band in Slovenia (est. 1987)
Now the funny part.
Nowadays Europe is open for us and surprise surprise - domestic metal is no longer interesting. We get no radio air time, no television. We're more Underground today than in the years when we were outlaws just for having long hair... (I'm speaking generally, not just my band)
You guys being in the UK, you're in the centre of attention, but still - do you have a feeling that people dig foreign bands more just because they are foreign? Does that happen in UK too?
I mean - my band doesnt stand a chance at home anymore. But one idea is coming to my thoughts - buy an Easyjet ticket to London, go to Camden Lock, turn the stereo to max, let 'em hear some thrash, and sell my stuff?
'Coz I'm really thinking about doing it. From March till end of June we sold 12 fuckin' albums in Slovenia. WTFF? (I added another 'fuckin' in wtf). If I sell only 10 albums I can pay for the bloody air ticket to UK. (and If I sell another 10 I can afford the bus from Stansted to Camden Lock)
Tell me wot you think - are we really worth selling only 12 albums in 4 months? Give me some feedback.

Re: Question from behind the Iron Curtain
Well, what can I say...
Maybe I should really pack my bags and go see the world...
There's Sarcasm fans in Hongkong!
What-the-awesome-fuck!!!
We have bands struggling over here, but sooner or later they lose the will to fight. This year was particularly bad. Many bands disbanded. We've had huge economic crisis for the past 2 years. Gigs became next to impossible. Very few clubs that take metal bands and this year another huge blow - the No. 1 Slovenian underground club was shut down...
But we stay. We're the cockroaches. We chose to be this way... It's frustrating sometimes, but it is awarding.
Your answer is one of those bright moments that keep us going.
Thanks bro.
You got me going for the next 5 years for sure![Smile :)](images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: Question from behind the Iron Curtain
I'm checking out those new songs,
it's nice, easy going music,
quite different from the old stuff
maybe I'm some kind of very old school minded guy
I prefer the old, Crematory style
especially old vocal : )
so could u tell me who are you chatting with me in here?
which member from the band? I would like to know

Re: Question from behind the Iron Curtain
Aw, sorry for not replying to you, i wuz away for a whie... Ah, I'm Mucy, the singer.
Old-crematory-school is what we do now. We've been lost for a while, looking for ... hm... a definition od ourselves. What is Sarcasm music? Whak kind of music IS Sarcasm. What is our sound?
Sarcasm had many lineup changes, because military service was mandatory in Yugoslavia. So each year the band lost someone and gained someone else. And the sound changed. The first Sarcasm team was "Crematory Team", whose finest hour was a gig with Motorhead (co-headliners, not just a warm-up band). In early 90's there was the second team, we call it 'The Eclipse Team' which is reponsible for the best gigs with Slayer, Kreator, Sepultura. At this time Sarcasm was one of the greatest Yugoslav thrash metal bands, played regularly in front of thousands. Then 90's struck, everything went down.
I joined the re-united "Creamtory Team" at around 2000, replacing the original singer who became too lazy, too fed up, too old, who knows.
We had lots of trouble finding ourselves until one of the "Eclipse Team" returned to the band, guitarrist Klemen. Since then we're back in business, thrashing more and more, faster and faster and today we can call ourselves "Something To Believe In Team" because that's who we are and we intend to keep it that way. It's a combination of the first two teams and some new & energetic folks (new drummer and bass player). We have new songs coming up, this time in Slovenian, just to annoy everyone and to let the world hear our strange little language.
Hey, by the way, speaking of UK scene... Who do I turn to if I want my band promoted in the underground circles & get some gigs around 'ere?
