Last man standing

Postby Metalbrew Stu on Thu Jun 28, 2007 5:47 pm

Anyone see this the other night on BBC 3? It was awesome!

The basic premise is that there's a group of 6 or so guys who travel the world from tribe to tribe competing in their hard bastard competitions. Lest week saw them in Brazil wresting with this tribe in some weird style. If they were good enough they got to represent the tribe against a rival tribe in a big wrestle off.

3 or them got through, but as a test, they had their legs and arms scratched with piranhas teeth and salt and chilies rubbed in. If they made a sound they weren't worthy or something.

It was good. Next week they're stick fighting some Africans... it looks even more brutal.

Aye, the Piranha tooth comb bit was brutal. I am sure they went a bit over the top with the rugby/cricket guy. He seemed to bleed way more than the other two.

For a moment I thought you were talking about the Bruce Willis film, and I briefly thought, "Shit, Stu's become cool!" But I was swiftly disappointed. Nevermind. We're going to see Die Hard 4.0 next week (or the week after) and I won't take no for an answer.

I bought the Rambo and Die Hard Trilogies in HMV today for 22 quid.

Bargain of the century.

That's brilliant. I bought a Die Hard 1/2 special boxset a few years ago, two discs each, but no 3rd movie unfortunately. I'll have to get that at some point. And I still need to see the Rambo films properly. I've only seen bits of the 3rd one, and that was hilarious. I'll make sure I watch them before John Rambo comes out. Which apparently it isn't for another year or something so I've got ages.

Yeh I was impressed - Die Hard was a tenner, Rambo 12 quid, down from something stupid like 35/45 quid...

I'll never a buy a dvd from HMV at full price, but when they do sales, they do them well.

Rambo is fucking hilarious!

That's what I was thinking when I saw it on the TV Info last night. When I realised it wasn't the film I didn't bother watching it so I watched the Thing again. That film fucking rules.

The Thing is amazing.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Yeah, one of the best films ever. And, the effects look better than most of todays shitty CGI crap.

I agree with that, it may have looked slightly fake but it was real!

The Thing is great, can't beat Kurt Russell....as Stallone brings back Rocky and Rambo, Bruce Willis with John Mclane i think Russell should bring back Snake.....though it can't be worse than escape than LA, though that had Bruce Campbell in it so it had some Kudos

Actually, I heared a rumour that they might be making another Escape from somewhere film. Also, I heared they're re-making Evil Dead, BUT, fucking Bruce Campbell isn't gonna be in it!
How can anyone get the idea to make an Evil Dead remake, without Bruce Campbell... That film doesn't need re-making anyway!
I also heared they were gonna re-make Day of the Dead. NO! Doesn't need doing, there's NO WAY it will beat the original.
