I saw all 4 of these bands in the 80s and they were immense. Megadeth probably less so, but still great. They were the big 4 and they dragged thrash kicking and screaming onto the front cover of Kerrang which was the metal bible in those days (what the fook went wrong there then?). Nobody did as much to bring thrash into the mainstream as those 4 bands. Even Exodus and Testament paled in comparison. It's impossible to overstate how big a deal Puppets, Peace Sells, Reign In Blood and Among The Living really were when they were released.
Anyway, on to my point... I've also seen all 4 of these bands recently (last couple of years anyway) and although none of them have the same passion and fire they had 20 odd years ago, they're all still bloody good live and put on a hell of a show.
My opinion is this would be a phenomenal gig if they could get past the egos. Even if just for the fact a few old fuckers like me prayed for this line up 20 years ago and it never quite happened.
Oh yeah, one last thing. Fuck Machine Head. Seen em twice, they sucked donkey cock twice.
Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer to tour together!!??

finally someone with some sense! i've seen machine head open for Metallica twice and both times they were shit live, Rob Flynn cannot sing! and Demmel can't even stay conscious on stage these days lol
and like Sasquatch said they may not play with the same passion or intensity [which in my opinion Metallica are these days] they still put on great, tight shows!

Yeah, as a straight up shouty-angry band they're alright, but the singing is not a good addition. I thought they were quite good live when I saw them, but I liked Trivium back then as well so they were probably shit.

fair enough man. im mean sure i suppose they are good [but nothing special] musicians but you just cannot deny the legendary status these bands deserve for some of the albums they've put out. none of MH's albums can even be compared to albums such as Mater of Puppets, Among the Living, Peace Sells etc they just cant!

If you want a fucking speech then go to a stand up comedy gig.
It's SLAYER for fuck's sake, Tom Araya never says much onstage anyways and when your songs are bloody amazing live you don't have to say much.

Yeah, I don't really agree with that, there's a big difference between a band who stands on stage and does their job (eg. Megadeth) and a band who really communicates with the audience and shows them genuine love and tries to give them the best time possible (eg. Iron Maiden).
What I do agree with though, is that Burn My Eyes is very fucking good indeed!

It's probably because I grew up loving it. If I listened to it for the first time now, maybe I wouldn't like it so much, but it's the fondness for a lovely time gone by, and the fact that I still like a lot of the songs on it, the keeps me enjoying it!

Yes, I have, and it might not be absolute shite but there's no way I'm putting it on the same level as Reign In Blood, Rust In Peace, etc etc. If it's gonna be a thrash tour, stick Exodus or Testament or one of the other not-quite-big-four bands on as support, not a band that still has nu metal on their setlist.

I'd want Testament over Anthrax if this happened.
