Metal church were always one of my personal favourites, they inspired bands that went on to get loads bigger than them.
BOA 06 was a great show. Also a nice bunch of people, no silly rock star egos whatsoever.
Makes me feel really old when bands like that throw the towel in.

They split up/shelved the band before. I expect if the right deal were on the table for them then Kurt Vanderhoof could sort something out, but there was a noticable change in musical direction in the later albums plus the fact thet never really had proper label support and were probably struggling to earn a decent living out of it anyway.
My personal favourite was 'blessing in disguise' , followed by 'the dark' . They are a big influence for me.

Shit that's bad to hear. They were a good solid band. All the best to the members in future.

I saw them with david wayne at hammersmith odeon 15th feb '87 with crimson glory and anthrax, and "watch the children pray" sent shivers down my spine, a memory never to be forgotten.......

yes indeed, I'm glad I got the chance to see em
MC have always been a fave of mine, infact I was only blasting The Dark yesterday! I'd probably go for the first for my fave album, just love it all.. There's the occasional song that's really not something i'm into on the next 3 albums, but yeah fucking brilliant!

I had that show on tape when Tommy Vance played it on The Friday Rock Show. Still got the Anthrax set but the MC and CG ones disappeared years ago.
Wish I could've gone to the gig.

It bothers me all the kids these days into early metallica who have never even heard of metal church.
When i met the band i mentioned that 'blessing is disguise' is my favourite, but it seems to me that that is the wild card album that not everyone got. ..well i liked it anyway.
