i think it depends whether you host the file yourself or upload it onto ukthrash webspace.

I've just had a play about with the CSS and any avatar that is above 100 pixels wide will be resized to 100 pixels (keeping aspect ratio) - whether they're hosted on UK Thrash or not :)
