Don't do it Lewis.... please.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

MY THRILLING THRASH WEEKEND EXTRAVAGANZA. by richard marley age:25
well it all started for me on thursday really.off to colchester to see gama bomb @the twist with Lewis and Billy aka torso/dian wei.there was a different atmosphere compared to the inner london gigs and a youngish local crowd but i still enjoyed the set and it was good to hear the track global warming live.cool to see elimination/painkiller and godsacksman too.
then friday morning after having a wash at Bills and him allegedly pooing in my sleeping bag,it was off to see the dark knight.considering i dont really do superhero movies the film was really really enjoyable.
then off to metalbrew in the eve to help prepare, and to set up camp then generally get pissed and barbeque some dude food ie:burger and dorito sandwiches topped with reggae reggae sauce.nice to see Jamie gobble and devour Mike Furys balls off
(well 2scotch eggs and a burst pink balloon for those who gasp in horror.)
after finally kipping at 2am then getting back up at 8 it was time to put in some graft and put up fences/gazeebos etc.
WHAT AN AWESOME DAY
first off HUGE HUGE thanks to Johnnyboy,Jamie,Metalbrew Stu and all others on the team.
the drink were reasonably priced and the food van was a well priced, yummy success.i got metalbrewed up with a shirt, lighter and 4badges.what bargains!!
the first/opening band were really funky and a great opener to get the day in swing,it was like a rage against the machine meets jimi hendrix hybrid.unfortunately their vocalist was missing but all the same it was an enjoyable funky laid back groovy affair to ease everyone into the spirit for what lay ahead.
i didnt really see all of the "cotton eye joe" hillbilly band as i was meeting/catching up with Spencer and then Anna.
Dead Existence:my third time seeing these guys, brutally gloomy, some lengthy tunes and overall a tight set.
Doctor Death:this was where the mayhem started in my opinion,a tight, great sounding set with a great new tune.highlight being Bills tankard cover combined with Messy-Melon-Mashing-Mayhem courtesy of "Mad Doctor Freddy".
utter carnage and great festival fun.then the ultimate jeremy beadle/hand of love encore to top it all off.so far the best doctor death gig ive ever seen.
Damnas:thats dam-nas ok?d-a-m-n-a-s they never cease to amaze and the tune SOS blew me away, best lyrical tongue twisting yet!a real honour to have a shoutout from damnas by Donny the "MC of thrash".
Dark Forest:had to sit and enjoy this one, really glorious/triumphant,heroic style metal.
Mutant:after catching my breath/recharging my energy cells from the Damnas set it was time for the third in the trilogy of thrsah bands to play.the mutant barrel was a lovely centrepiece on the stage.a lot of new tunes by the ever mutating band.every song is a unique journey, the start middle and end are always interestingly laid out.mutant have traditional thrash values but with a real modern up to date edge,so this is what gives the tracks character and makes them stand out.
Pagan Altar:by now the it was dark and the mood was changed with some atmospheic tunes,i was pretty low on energy at this point so it was time for another visit to the snack van and a sit and watch to take it all in.
Cloven Hoof:the ultimate ending to the ultimate day.how does he still reach those hiiiiiigh notes?some legendary tunes and a wonderful performance, perfect all the way through and a classic encore.
top stuff.
finally got to sleep at 4ish after much banter,a huge fire being lit and general substance smoking/more drinking.up at 7 as it was sooo hot then off at 10.got home at 1230.now time to relax with ice cream and possibly watch the eastenders omnibus
no rest for the wicked though, gotta work mon/tue and gotta fit in the doctor death/nebukadnezza/gama bomb gig tomorrow too.
i will chill on wednesday and put up my youtube vids(2 tracks each of mutant/doctor death and damnas)
thanks to all the bands/forumers and everyone else who made it a pleasure.
the end.

I also think the Mutant barrel should appear at every gig, if possible!

Yeah balls I missed Dark Forest, damn it! Mutant were brilliant, Mutiant. Don't remember the last band, or the one before them. Dr Death were cool, and I managed to dodge most of the watermelon. I've got some weird burn thing on my shoulder but I dunno how it got there, my tshirt is unscaved in that area, I don't remember how I managed to burn two holes in my tshit. It topped last year easily, that afterwards partying was best.
