We have a "hardcore" scene in my area, it is the musical equivalent of being raped by your nan.
It's just a load of pricks with camo shorts and tunnel piercings, all the kids who use to be scene and are just jumping onto the next bandwagon. The bands are totally unoriginal, with fucking breakdown after breakdown. I saw one the other day with THREE guitarists, none of which were doing anything interesting. Just playing breakdowns mostly.
The worst part of this so called "scene" is that most of the kids hang around outside the venue, or turn up after the show - contributing nothing to the music scene here. Hopefully the venue will realise they're all shit and put some proper metal on again.

Ah Your Demise, I remember when they played a show up here and through a fanny fit because they had to go on first. Pushed a dumpster down the steps to the venue. Hardcore as fuck like. They wasn't even supposed to be on the gig either, their gig got cancelled and another promoter is good enough to let them play. It was a gig full of scene bands aswell so I don't know why they expected to be headlining or something, though 99% of their fan base are scene kids gone TUFF.

I really don't understand the whole swinging their arms about thing, like, do they want to hit people in the face? I think it's just all about trying to be the most dominant person in the room and take up the most amount of space, like an alpha male kind of thing. Pretty pathetic actually, that's not what music should be about, the whole point of a band is to work together to create music, so you should come together to enjoy it, not try to exclude everyone else or be in charge. Oh and it looks fucking rediculous.
