It's a really good movie. I love the guys who judge the records... their houses are filled with hundreds of VHS's waiting to be judged for 'world' records. Brilliant!
When you meet a gamer who talks about different revisions of the Arcade boards and the exploits you can use to beat THAT version of the game.... you know you've met a real geek.
It's a shame all the arcades are dieing. Makes me want to build a MAME cabinet.

Alas Sega World got turned in to a Virgin Megastore .... did you play the VR games in the basement. Brilliant 80's action with massive VR helmets on It's the future.

I went to the london"trocadero"(formerly/previously sega world)a few years back, there were mainly dance/racing/shooting machines just like in a typical multiplex arcade.there were bumper cars/bowling alleys and other amusements etc.
the only retro games were flying shooters(ie;1942series)and just as we were getting bored rather quickly(as there wasnt enough retro games as we had anticipated)we were almost off and then tuck away in a corner we stumbled upon a 28 in 1 classics machine.also there was a sit in outrun 1986 machine
greatest machine there in my opinion.dont know why the hell it was so hidden and neglected at the back of a fruit machine section.
anyway we spent the next hour or so playing turtles arcade/mario/pacman/final fight and plenty of others.and it was a bargain at 20/50p a go/for a few credits.compared to all the other £1 for 5 mins of short lived fun modern games.
still i bet it was a way cooler place a few years back.
the "cutting edge" ad for sega world on youtube looks so dated now
if its just a virgin store now, then thats a shame.im surprised they havent opened a Rad Retro Revolution Arcade yet...

Re: King Of Kong
Eek, I can't remember that. The only two I really remember was a Sonic themed beat em up and a mountain biking simulator where you sat on a bike and pedalled. I was about 9 at the time, and I don't think I could even ride a bike at that point, but the magic of video games made me feel like Lance Armstrong (without cancer).
Everything seemed so advanced then, mainly because 3D games hadn't really been around very long on home consoles. Today, it's just not the same..

Re: King Of Kong
hmm, I think you're right, it's the Trocadero now not the Virgin Megastore. To be fair the Sega World quickly turned shit. In the beginning there was loads of room and cabinets that were only available in Japan and Sega World..... after a while it was just filled with shit. I guess they couldn't make any money.
