Nice review. That's pretty much where I am with this album. I've been listening to Annihilator since Alice In Hell came out and I think the new one is actually not bad at all. Is it an all-out thrash album or does it capture the spirit of Alice In Hell or Never, Neverland ? No. But those days are gone. Take it for what it is. It's a good, solid metal album and a lot better than I was expecting. And that's all you can ask for sometimes.

Each to their own and all that, but I heard the track off the Terrorizer CD and was shocked by how bad it is. REALLY, REALLY BAD! Like Evil Steve said, it's just really commercial, poppy and lame. And the vocals were sickening. Awful.

However, by all the slandering of the Machine Head album, I was pleasantly surprised by Ascetics of Hate. OK, they outro was a little unnecessary but the rest of it was really fucking good. Is it a fair representation of the album?

There's an unseen fortune under their belts
Are golden temples a symbol of God's way
This horde of wealth is a sickening display"

I really want to review it but Luci would not let me. I dont think she would have been happy with a two word review.

Fucking shit.

Yes, it is. I have said it before and I'm saying it again. The new Machine Head album kicks major ass.

And that's where I disagree. I think the new Machine Head is generic and boring as fuck. It's exactly the same as every other album since Burn My Eyes. Some good riffs occasionally but they stop them too often and with Rob Flynn's shitty vocals it's aimed squarely at the Trivium market.
Each to his own. If everybody liked the same thing there wouldn't be much variety out there.
