The fact of the matter is that a band has booked a tour coming over from ireland based around this date and it's cancelled. People have booked time off work and folks still want to come to see a show. Hammerfest can't be selling that well as I got the new metal hammer today and it's still advertising the earlybird special.

Us and SSS still want to play a gig somewhere, no doubt most/all other bands do too that were on the bill.

Is there anyone out there (or here) that can help out? It's not like it's short notice, we've still got over 8 weeks to sort it.

maybe do something in leeds as Evile play rios on the sunday,so it would be a good Thrash weekend? probably paul priest(raw nerve) is the best to contact,maybe change it to the subculture.

I think a reoganization for another time or just not cancel it is the best plan

Jamie's playing with STD at the Unicorn on the 25th that weekend, Donny's organised a night of fun with Damnas (obviously without me playing for that gig), so he won't be able to do anything for that weekend I think.

The thing is, Hammerfest is in Wales, and the line up isn't anything spectacular. For me, Opeth and Saxon are the only amazing big bands on the bill, and they play everywhere all the time, as do Evile and Gama Bomb. I really really doubt FTA would lose any of it's audience for that, no one's going to travel to Wales for it, I'm sure of it. I'm sure there are reasons other than Hammerfest, but it's a shame FTA had to be cancelled, rather than just postponed to another week further towards the summer or something.
