As long as people understand that it will be just my opinion, and hope the bands who dont get the best comments can learn from it instead of getting upset, and there will be no arse licking, that includes Hallowed Point.

I've upset countless people with reviews I've written. It goes with the job.

Aye, but it must be good to know that you have that kind of power over the general public. The ability to upset someone purely with your opinion on music is a valuable asset. I trust you have learned to use it wisely.

Power is there for a reason. To be exploited for one's own gain.

That reminds me of a time long ago when one of my friends at school whose dad used to write for Kerrang reviewed Machine Head's The Burning Red. He gave it a pretty bad review and slammed their humorous cover of Message in a Bottle especially, and apparently Robb Flynn phoned him up and had a go at him for the review.

I don't actually know if it's true or not, but it easily could be, Robb Flynn seems like an idiot really. He keeps trying to insist Burn My Eyes was a rap album with hip-hop beats in order to excuse the horrible mess that were the post-The More Things Change MH albums. The idiot.

hello all, yes indeed. if anybody is up for doing a review of the whole album of joy (thats what i like to call it these days), then i would really love to see it. i would be really interested in getting it up on the RR website, along with some other bits and bobs (press cuttings etc).

You've used my quote then?

Well, if you're in a band and can't take any criticism then that's your problem surely??

If bands cannot take a bit of constructive criticism then they shouldn't put their music out there. How can a band possibly grow if everyone just says "whoa your music kicks ass" instead of giving an honest opinion?

I agree, we kick ass because people are always telling us our music is shit. On the rare occasions people say "whoa your music kicks ass", I don't believe them
