Thrash sucks!

I hope you aren't taking the piss out of the mighty "1987" young sir. One of my favourite hard rock albums!!

Damn right it is! It's fooking brilliant!

Myself and Calum from Amok are in the process of writing stuff for a new band (Harlotte Church) are there's some of that kind of sound coming through.

:D

1987 for me. There were probably more good albums in '86 but in '87 I went to more gigs than in '86.

Tough one but I vote 85 cos thats the year I discovered Shades record shop in London, and METAL FORCES mag, and started skiving off school, getting the train to Waterloo and spending my dinner money on stuff like HELLHAMMER, SLAYER, MERCYFUL FATE and BATHORY!! It fucking ruled!!

Shades was a great shop. They used to advertise in Kerrang every week with little comments next to the albums to let you know what they thought of them. I used to go there and spend a fortune every time I went to London. It was on Wardour Street near the (original) Marquee club. You used to go down a set of stairs on a side street. For some reason every time I went in there members of Tigertailz were always in there. I think they used to work there part-time.

Wow, it seems I'm not the only one that's going to turn 21 this year.

I wish I could have been a teenager in the 80s, that would have been sweet. Like, when Kerrang was still good. I mean, I just about remember when it was still good, but I only had a year of it, maybe two before it turned to crap. If anyone who lives near to Banbury is interested, they have a box full of mostly Kerrang, but also some other magazines, in Record Savings. They go all the way back to the 80s! I was looking through there, and I found some awesome stuff, like pictures of Metallica with Cliff burton, and even one when Fred Durst was in it... And no one hated him yet!

Nah, just kidding, everyone always hated Fred Durst, even before they heard of him.
I'm going to
Tear your fuckin' eyes out,
Rip your fuckin' flesh off,
Beat you 'till you're just a fucking lifeless carcass,
Fuck you and your progress,
Watch me fucking regress,
You were made to take the fall,
Now you're nothing!!

I can see the appeal for the younger thrashers wishing that they'd been teenagers during the 80s, but think on, by now what hair you've got left
is greying, your joints ache, you've "filled out", your piles make you whice... a small price to pay for having been of an age to have see Metallica with Cliff :rockdevil:
