Why don't you just watch them on TV like a normal person?

Amen. I'm with you on this one Iain; I thought it was more miss than hit. Quite good. Not brilliant. Thought Dobbie's dance was good though.

Because I have no TV at uni.

Watched it now though - I quite enjoyed it, though Mark really needs to sort his life out now!

Yeah, I think they might have taken things a bit too far with Mark now. His life is basically fucked beyond repair. What I have noticed about this series is the total lack of funny Jeremy moments. Even what happened to Mummy the dog was hilarious, they need to do something similar to take the pressure off of Mark.

That was such a blatant error, especially after last episode's attempts to get with her - I didn't think even Mark had that poor judgement. I agree that Jeremy seems to be getting away with murder lately, it feels like something should happen regarding him - at least a job.

And Mark really needs to punch Geoff in the face!

That's clearly not Mark's style, he's got his revenge before when Geoff split up with Sophie. I'd imagine if he got it again (it's been a while), he'd get it by exposing or seeing Geoff doing something wrong or farting in a pint. But yeah, he should well punch him as well.

I thought the geek bird owning Geoff was funny.

You've got to believe Mark will be able to save face over the next episode or so before the series ends with another complete fuck-up. As for Debbie*, I can't believe Mark did that. Sophie is a dog and things aren't going to pan out with it, the Aussie bird** was a complete monster and Debbie is clearly of such low self-esteem that he'd be daft not to get with her. I've got to say, if I had been Mark, not only would I have not turned down Debbie; I'd not have bothered throwing myself a birthday party when it's clear that your co-workers think that you are a complete tit.

* Was the actress that plays Debbie part of the Mitchell and Webb live show tour? There were two others that did slightly annoying filler segments and they sound similar.

** Was it her that played a similar role in EastEnders not that long ago?

I actually thought Dobbie's role might have been a once off appearance last time, so it's quite interesting that she's still 'in the picture'. The Aussie bitch is bound to be gone or got rid of next episode, and yeah I can't see anything ever happening with Sophie again.

To be fair, David Mitchell isn't the most attractive of guys but I reckon Sophie is scraping the barrel, even for him.

Realistically the only way out for Mark would be to emigrate to Aberdeen, though I think a Peep Show farcical suicide attempt could be on the cards at some point.

*gasps*

American versions

In 2005, the Fox network commissioned a pilot for an American version of Peep Show. However, the pilot was unsuccessful.[7] Jeremy was played by Josh Meyers, and Mark was played by Johnny Galecki.[7]

Spike TV has since commissioned their own version, originally to be written and directed by Robert Weide, who is the executive producer of Curb Your Enthusiasm. However, it is currently being written by the original creators of the British version, Jesse Armstrong and Sam Bain.[citation needed]

Mitchell and Webb have stated that they would like Steve Carell and Owen Wilson to play their lead roles.[citation needed]

Why didn't anyone inform me of this so that drastic action, in the form of an online petition against the replication of UK-based comedies in the USA, could be taken?!

As much as I think Steve Carrell rules in the US Office, that is indeed a detestable idea!!

P.S. "There's an ANZAC museum in Huddersfield!"

There's no chance that the sort of bitter musings of Mark in Peep Show could come off in an American comedy. They are just so contrary to what American sit-coms are generally all about.
