I'm a politics student and there is nothing worse than having one of them in your tutorials. I actually had a nemesis last year. It was quite funny because everyone else in the class just sat and watched whilst me and him shouted at each other. He always went on about how the War in Iraq was 'all about oil' and that it wasn't America's place to act as the 'World's Policeman' in International Relations. I got the last laugh though because I got a way better mark than he did.

The amount of arguments i had with people like that at college, (The first time round Torso) it still gets my blood boiling. The fact that they can make a point that has absolutely factual base just infuriates me. My view is if you don't know, don't say anything. FUCK HEADS!

Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

They are the ones with berets who Ricky Gervais used to call "cunts"!

i don't understand what you mean by 'hyper liberals', are all the people that marched against the war cunts or do you just hate the stereotype 'Rick from the young ones' kind of thing?

On Blair. BIG mistake going into the war on Iraq, has taken Labour too far down the centre road and forsaken the core Labour support (this will come back to bite them in the arse later on). His promises of less sleaze and spin have come to nothing and the NHS is in ruins. In my area theyre shutting down an NHS hospital meaning some people in sussex will have an hours drive to the A&E. Huge protests ignored completely.

On the plus. decent economy, alot of public investment in education, good initiatives to get people back to work and he's kept the Tories out of power for ten years =D>

didnt thatcher do the same tho? she stood resolute to what she believed was the right thing to do (unions, argentina, etc) doesnt make a lot of what she did right tho.

As for blair,, he could have been much worse, but a lot better. The worst thing that happened to the labour party was the death of John Smith, he would have been far better, and he wouldnt have courted the publicity to the detriment of things like blair did too often.

As for brown, he is the most obnoxious looking politician ever. He is greasy and mongified looking. I hate his voice and he looks too shifty. As for his ability as a prime minister, we'll have to wait and see.

personally i think prescot would have been preferable to brown, and if bush pissed him off too much, he would have twated him like this:

Why is any of that relevant to how good a job he will do in Number 10? Never mind that he is a very experienced politician who has performed solidly at the treasury for a decade! Symptoms of the presidential trends I guess.

And are you joking that you'd prefer Prescott? Seriously?

By hyper-liberal I mean what I said earlier, 'people who are quick to protest against the decisions of government yet who don't propose feasible alternatives', i.e. hippies.

Is the health service really that shit in England? It's fantastic in Scotland.

And another thing:

How many of you feel that a lot of public 'opinion' is just churning out stupid statements that they've picked up somewhere without stopping to question whether or not the statements are relevant to their lives? If I watch something like Question Time or see members of the public being interviewed on the news, plenty of people seem willing to make statements about how the NHS has gone to the dogs under Labour but, I think, if you were to ask them to elaborate on their views they'd be completely fucked.

The same goes for education, immigration and the War in Iraq. I guess, at the end of the day, people have it so easy here that not living in a gutter feasting on your own shit has become a commodity.

Yeah i totally agree with you Iain, a great place to see this in action is the 'opinion' sections on The BBC News website. Full of Sun and Daily Mail readers who will come out with complete reactionary and opinionated comments usally something like 'this country's going to the dogs' with no sort of evidence or proper argument, usually to do with the EU or immigrants.

Most of these peoples' grievences seem to be based on anicdotes and news features rather than their own experiences too! People will moan about anything in this country.

Of course. It's because many people are stupid. They shouldn't be let loose to express their opinions...

Uh, how about we don't invade sovereign nations without provocation, causing a bloody civil war and destabilising the region? How about we pull our troops out before another dumb kid gets killed? Blair is a war criminal with the blood of 655,000 people on his hands, 2.5% of the Iraqi population. He has nothing to be praised for and in a just world he'd be prosecuted for his crimes.

Hyper-liberal? Yeah, god forbid anyone should stand up for liberties these days.
