It depends on how often you use a pair I guess. I was considering getting a tub but then I thought they'd probably last me too long if I use 1 pair per gig. Might just go for 30 pairs for 18 quid

The ones I had (and then lost) were transparent as well, so no one can see that you're wearing them. You can wear them many times indeed, and from the Wembley Drum Centre they only cost £13.

I think they cost me £16 +P&P, might be cheaper if you look about. Pretty good, they have 3 different filters for idfferent sound levels. I tend to use the low one for band practice and the medium one for clubs and gigs, occasionally I'll use the heavy ones. Got some white ones but I reckon the grey ones would be more discreet. They're not flat, but they're probably about as close as you'll get without molded plugs. They cut out all the high reflections and high end distortion you get at small gigs and shows with deaf engineers, which has to be a good thing. I used to have some Elacins, they were good. Didn't have the different filters and they stuck out of my ears a bit more, but they did have a string so I could wear them round my neck when they weren't in my ears, and you don't need the applicator thing to get them in.

If you've got a bit more to spend, you can go to Specsavers. They'll give you a free hearing test, and apparently they'll do molded plugs for about £60, which I assume are flat, though you should probfably check first. Well worth having some form of earplugs, you'll notice how you can still hear properly 3 days after seeing Slayer, it feels nice

I don't do the whole band thing but when I go gigs I never wear them and never have. I'll just go deaf then be cool because I lost my hearing from being totally Metal and completly Hardcore.

I used to use Elacins and now use the Alpine music safe pro just like styxx, I would recommend them to anyone. For the money they are the best and most comfortable plugs I've worn. I use pro plugs for a while and found them incredibly uncomfortable, depends on your ear shape I guess!

Yeah, I tried some in a shop, but my ears are slightly different sizes, and I couldn't find one size that fit both ears. Much prefer the one-size-fits-all type.
