Nofx are in my top 10 bands. Just simply for the song 'The Decline' which they played 2 years ago (its 18 mins long)

I really need to explore it more, but I have 'Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing' by Discharge, which is quality.

I bloody love punk. Discharge are mighty and Hear Nothing... is one of the best, simply because it's so brutally simple. When STD did the Anti-EP about 50 years ago, it was totally inspired by Discharge. One band who ripped them off far harder than we ever did was Crucifix. Dehumanization was a good album but maybe too many songs. And definitely not as good as Hear Nothing...
Dead Kennedys are my favourite band ever (though it is a shame that they have done some legacy pissing...). I once sent my alternative lyrics to 'California Uber Alles' to Alternative Tentacles and they forwarded me a message of approval from Mr Biafra. I was a nineteen year old fanboy and well-excited. His stuff with DOA, Ministry (with Lard), NoMeansNo and the Melvins are all great. Full Metal Jack-Off (14mins) surpasses any other epic punk song.
I'm not huge on NoFX, FAt Mike's voice grates on me a touch but The Decline is truly another great epic punk monster (18mins). Only other one that really needs to be added is Subhumans' From the Cradle to the Grave (17mins). Absolutely manic with some of the best lyrics ever.

Black Flag are great and people need to definitely look beyond Damaged. I think all the releases I've heard are really good in a horrible kind of way.

Minor Threat are another grand supreme. One of the best things a band can do is play Minor Threat songs. Though I do not follow the straight-edge ethos there are a lot of things I can relate to in Minor Threat and their songs are structurally perfect slabs of Punk/HC. FUGAZI are a totally different animal but brilliant as well. Hooray for Mackaye.

Looking at your list, Tom, I'm wondering if you've heard Govt. Issue another great band in the vein of Articles of Faith.
Right, list time: Raw Power, MDC, Circle Jerks, Anti-Sect, TSOL, Crumbsuckers, (early) Agnostic Front, (early) Corrosion of Conformity (well, that's the punk bit, anyway), Cro-Mags, Bad Brains, Cross-Stitched Eyes (relatively new, check them out), DRI, Poison Idea. That's off the top of my head.

There's an unseen fortune under their belts
Are golden temples a symbol of God's way
This horde of wealth is a sickening display"
