METALLICA - Ride The Lightening. I didn't realise Metal was so good until a mate played me this. I had only a passing interest in Metal until then, IRON MAIDEN, SAXON & MOTORHEAD. Went on a a thrash binge after that though. It was just starting to break big, so many good bands, so many good records... :D

Kill 'Em All - First real thrash album i really got into (at the time i was into more generic bands)

More recently Tempo Of The Dammed started my love for Exodus, that album has killer riffs.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

I think Kreator were the first thrash metal band I really liked. I got inot Teutonic thrash before taking a liking for US Thrash

Kill 'em All, no doubt, set me firmly on the path to thrashing. Nothing had EVER hit me like The Four Horseman, and very little has hit me like that since.

hhhmm well you could say that the first thrash band i listened to (and when i got a job bought everything of) was Metallica and Megadeth seeing stuff like "Holy Wars" and "skin O' my teeth" vids on Headbangers ball in the early to mid 90's via my (ex)uncle.

Though for more underground thrash i think it was listening to Carnivore and (the REAL) Incubus

when i was like 6 or summin, my parents brought this stereo system, and randomly brought some eps from the car boot sale... one of the eps was anthrax "penikufesin" ep... we used to listen to it secretly becuase the line in now its dark had "fuckin" in it, and "there was fuck all else to do" on the sex pistols cover... man was i glad when i listened to it again a few years back....

but, life changin thrash album... and justice for all, even wiht its shitty bass mix...

For me i suppose it was Venom "welcome to hell", although i had started prefering the heavier metal sound way back when i got Motorheads "no sleep til hammersmith" LP. Like Ian said earlier, the MFN comp "hell on earth" was also a revelation but only because it led to what we were already looking for!!
