Grindcore

I don't see a thread for this.
Who loves Grind?
My Favourites would have to be Discordance Axis, Mindflair, and Brutal truth.

I listened to FED, by Napalm Death last night and had a great time!

I like some grind, just bigger names though, can't really be bothered to get my feet wet in those murky trenches.

I leave my grindcore serching mainy up to fred to show me good stuff, but he has impressed me on a few occasions for sure. Discordance Axis are... simply breathtaking, and Mindflair are fucking heavy and just awesome. Can't get much better than ND but i've been shown some great stuff from the nebs over the MANY hours of driving we've done haha... I'm certainly a fan, maybe just not so active in my search for new grind bands as my search for 70s prog. Caps (of STD) has also shown me the way on a few occasions with new grind, so i must tip my hat to him also.

Tom, you should totally check out Discordance Axis, they are the Kraftwerk/Agent Steel of grindcore, just so futuristic in sound. they sound like the great computer at the end of the universe crashing and melting in an inter-dimensional void, seriously!

I'm not huge on my grindcore. It's just difficult to find yourself in the right mood. However, I do love a grind influence (or bands that influenced grind such as Repulsion and Cryptic Slaughter).

Napalm Death in any form are awesome and Scum and FETO are both wicked - FETO takes it but there's no denying classics like Seige of Power, Fascist Control, You Suffer and the title track on Scum. Terrorizer's World Domination - if it counts - is another prime slice. Brutal Truth are another band I think are mega, really benefitting from variations in pace. Yeah... Rotten Sound and Insect Warfare are good too but come slightly behind the others for me...

From what I've heard, I should bloody get some Nasum.

There's an unseen fortune under their belts
Are golden temples a symbol of God's way
This horde of wealth is a sickening display"

Gotta love a bit of Grindcore here and there!

personal favourites have to be Brutal Truth and Carcass. I generally prefer Deathgrind like Benediction and Bolt thrower though.

You'll find alot of crusty bands tend to be grindcore to or vice versa.

ND
Nasum
ENT
Bolt Thrower
Carcass
Defecation
Righteous Pigs
Brutal Truth

Although some of those bands moved on from grind into a slightly more accessible type of sound.

Yeah, very futuristic. I actually have a CD of theirs where they made MIDI versions of their songs.
O yeah
Tom
Check out Gridlink. It's the singer from Discordance Axis. They sound like Vio-lence at double speed with twice as many harmonies.
