Some interesting news... The screenwriter for the new Terminator is the same guy who wrote The Dark Knight. Could this actually be good...?

I watched the first episode of The Sarah Connor Chronicles last night. Shite. Does it get any better or should I just cancel my Sky programme planner and forget I ever watched it?

if they would just set it all in the future and no present day stuff then it could be great.that way they will solve the replacing arnie problem instantly as the robots wont need to appear as humans.maybe have an "infiltrator" robot of human appearance played by someone for part of the movie like in t1 where that one with the red eyes duisguised as a trooper,sneaks into the slum/stronghold as that was cool.
all the "future" scenes in t1 and t2 were soooo fucking cool and i wanted number 3 to be all about what was going on in this future warzone during the first two terminator movies to tie it all up.there was no point in the "sendind back" elements of t3.
it shoulda just been all about a rag tag bunch of troops and the scavenging survivors overcoming the machines.ie;john connor as a mean ass commander of a small squad of close soldiers and leading several hundred human resistance into an epic scale battle.think matrix 3 when they all make a stand.i loved that film and thought with todays effects why the hell t3was sooooo shit in comparison.
forget number 3 entirely.
imagine t4 starting with some flashbacks of skynet taking over/obliterating the world/wiping out nearly all of mankind etc.then start the film just where t1 finished and having the future john connor being relieved that sarah was saved.then have few war scenes and character building etc.for the next part have a "few years later" screen to move the story on to where t2 was happening and have more warring and john capturing the robot,rewiring it and having to battle into skynet to send it through time for t2.there could then be a wait and see/deadline section with more battling etc then with john still being alive after the period of time t2 took place(because the t2/arnie robot protected him)he would then have the will to carry on and eventually crush skynet.skynet could have some kind of "mission failed with the t2000" message that john becomes aware of somehow,ie:through spy troops or hackers.and if he can re wire robots he could have 1 or 2 working for him so he can retrieve skynet plan/info from them.and again the robots could skin a few humans to have the machines spy on john and carry out assassinations etc.

the sending back plots dont need to be done again as we know that part of the story so far.ive often wondered due to the amazing plots of the first 2 and all the scenes set in the future what it would actually be like all set in the wasteland/aftermath and what would be going on during the war with the machines.

and please,please no heart-throbs/models/rappers in the cast!!!!
have some unknowns like in the original t1.

i just looked at the cast on imdb.
there is a rapper called common in the film. why dont rappers stick to rapping?
also,although all of you on here bum the dark night(i thought is was pretty cool too,mainly due to the joker mind),i dont think the whisper/lisper christian bale should be in it.its just too hollywood and just coz he has a cool sounding name and whispers a lot doesnt mean i think he is great.over-rated in this case.the whisper just annoys me and reminds me of phil mitchell or jayce off eastenders as it is so put on.bit like when jason statham has to do american voices and it totally wrecks his character.
the fact that it is terminator means they could cast some budding talented unknown actors and it would still be mega.
now all im gonna think when watching it is john connor used to be batman.and every time the rapper appears i will just think of my brother watching mtv base.
totally off putting for me im afraid.
