Pretty much my second favourite band of all time.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Mercyful fate are almost the perfect Metal band. i made a n00b of myself though when i was in sweden... i was chatting to somebody saying "i want to hear some real swedish metal whilst i am here, where is the fucking mercyful fate?!" to which they replied "...but King Diamond is Danish" .... oh, woops!

Top 5 band for me. Unbelievably amazing, The Mercyful Fate EP, Melissa, The Beginning and Don't Break The Oath are essential listening. Too much good stuff to say about them to even begin writing!

As i have stated on many, many, many occasions i want to form a kd tribute band. That would be grand.

Re: Mercyful Fate!
Hmm, I'd much rather get people together personally who like Mercyful Fate and do a band together. Its hard enough getting people together for a 'proper' band. If I found a bunch of guys into Mercyful Fate I would not waste them on a tribute band!

It wouldn't be a serious thing, just singing some fate and king diamond tracks because we love them so.

Well I would be up for that but at the same time I'm a shite singer and not very good on any instruments, plus I have no idea where you live...

I still don't like the King's voice that much, but musically speaking Melissa is a very superb album indeed, and I wouldn't mind hearing a bit more of this band!

I'm sure you'd love Don't Break the Oath just as much on a musical level, it's equally flawless!

Yeah, and the good thing is I don't hate his voice as much as I initially did anymore, so I can still listen to it and enjoy it, I just find it a shame when he does his falsetto that I find so hilarious and not very good. But luckily the band are so good I still listen to Melissa from time to time and think, yes, this is actually very good.
