Has anyone been watching this epic historical series on BBC 2? It's on Wednesdays and Sundays at 9pm.
I think we've had 3 or 4 episodes so far. I never really followed the first series as I had no TV in London, but I'm really into this one, especially as it is focused on Augustus's rise to power, which I studied this year.
It has plenty of interesting characters, stunning sets and lots of violence and bad language! The plot is cool as well because it follows the events of some lower level soldier characters as well as the main political story.
Mark Anthony is great!

Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Indeed i caught some of the episodes from last series but for some reason would sit down to watch it then something else would come up, so in this time period we should get to see Cleopatra do herself over!

Yeah, I think critics think it is needlessly coarse and portrays the Romans as much more depraved than they were.
But to be honest, I don't think it is particularly overdone, and it makes for great viewing anyway!

Bought the box set of series one from Amazon the other week for just over £20. Downloaded the second series a few months ago. Fantastic stuff.

I heard that this was edited and the American edition wasn't, but it's ok so far. Kinda... girly and pointless at times though.

Any crucifixions? I'm only waiting it if there are crucifixions.
