Following on from 7 years of amazing gigs, amazing people and amazing times we regret to inform you that we will not be continuing on as we are.
Damnas hoped to create a sound not often heard in the thrash circles and we believe that we have played a small part in opening up the UK thrash genre and taking the sound to other places whilst always keeping within the thrash blueprint . We are very proud of what we have achieved with so many bumps in the road along the way, as many people know the group has gone through many changes over the years but in modern times, conflicting schedules and time constraints have meant that its pretty much impossible to continue.
We plan to peform one more time in January at our home from home the Unicorn so if you havent caught us yet i suggest you get yourself to this gig as it'll be one messy piss up,
Details of the gig will be published soon

That is the shittest news I have heard in a long time. A proper shame. Not much else to say. RIP, Damnas, you fucking rule(d).

Damnas you bloody idiots. You are the brightest start of all London's underground metal hopes... This is a massive shame and a wasted opportunity for something that really could have progressed into something wonderful.
Still, you are class and despite all the hick-ups and set-backs you still solidered on like true warriors and its been a pleasure to be along for the ride. your fan base has grown so much since early days and its great to have seen a band succeed so much as Damnas. Always pushing their song writing and what could be done with the genre of Thrash, an inspiration for a lot of local musicians, i personally think that given the right circumstances that Damnas could have taken their music to a MUCH larger audience - i am very sad that they never got to take it as far is i think it should have gone.
Safe Damnas, you'll be missed.

Personally it's such a massive shame because so much has been put into it, but for one reason or another it just hasn't worked out.
Thanks to everyone who'se come to a show, all the bands we've played with, and all the promoters we've worked with as well.

That is a real bugger, been looking forward to a new Damnas CD too. I converted some vids I did of them at Matefest to live MP3s and they were cool, but a properly recorded live CD would be well cool

This is a bit mental really. But whaddayagonnado, music is like the rest of life, you go through phases, one ends and another begins. If you try and keep a band together just for the sake of trying to 'make it', the band is going to lose it's soul. I'm glad Damnas haven't done this. People have to move on and try other things, nothing lasts forever, and Damnas had a great time in this little fleeting moment of heavy metal joy. I've definitely had some of the best times of my life with this band, and I'll never forget it. Some great songs, lovely dancing, and lots of sweating. A lot of work went into the band, and it hasn't been wasted, because the whole ride has been amazing. Everything comes to an end, and in a genre like this, there's only so far you can go. I didn't expect this to actually happen, I'll be honest, and it's pretty sad - but at the same time, if the passion isn't there anymore, or whatever the reasons are, perhaps the band are having Insufficient Fun (yeah, that's right), it's just good to see the band go out with a bang, and not fizzle out trying to flog a dead wanker. Good boys. Well done.
I think the real reason though really is that you were jealous of all the Jon's Last Gigs I had, and now you want some for yourself. I bet this won't be the last one.
For now, all I'll say is, long live Fist Of Liberty.

Gutting really, but it happens. Damnas were king lovely, and perhaps in a few years time you'll go, perhaps we will play some of those songs.
But even if you don't, you were a personal favourite for a long time.

Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.
Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...
