Exactly.

So many bands at that point were trying shit like:

NECRO! NECRO! SCROTAL DEATH!
NECRO! NECRO! RONALD REAGAN!
NECRO! NECRO! WE'RE FIVE FOOT SIX!
NECRO! NECRO! PARLEZ-VOUS?!

Pathetic.

Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

I havent heard the finished thing yet bar the singles as I'm waiting for my pre-order to get here, but the demos are fantastic. You have to remember that he's trying to be different and I think he's done really well with it.

I could be 'trying to be different' by raping children and recording their cries. It doesn't mean it's good.

I just ment some people probably expect it to sound like the older stuff, which is why they are getting dissapointed over it

Yeah, but $13 million to make a rock album? That's just mental. But of course, 17 years of hype and the fact that it's Guns N Roses means they definitely will make the money back. Def Leppard's Hysteria was different, because that was a seminal album indeed (if you like that sort of thing, I don't really, but I can see why it's amazing). Chinese Democracy is just utter pants.

And indeed, different doesn't always mean good. AFI's last album was 'different'. Nostradamus was 'different'. They were both shit. AC/DC's last album was exactly the same as everything they've ever done, and it was amazing. But that doesn't really matter... a good song is a good song, and I've heard none on this album so far.

got my copy in post yesterday and well, if it was an axl rose solo album its very good
but as a guns n roses album its pants
not worth waiting 17 years for
not worth the recording fees
should have been better than the use your illusion albums at least

AFD is th album you love when you're 11 and just getting into rock music. I have fond memories of listening to it for the first time on holiday in Flordia (most of the drug/sex references when oer my head). UYI are the albums you listen to when you're 14-16 and trying to get into good music but you havent quite found it yet.

I tried to listen last night and couldn't even make it past one song. Incredibly boring.
