yeh what is up with "the one" comments, the only episode this series which has been up to the standard of older episodes was dobby

That was funny, it's character development. After all this time, all the resent towards each other and desire to get what they want kind of screws up their friendship.

Well they only have next weeks episode to fix things or maybe they will do that next series

I actually really enjoyed that episode! But when you look at it in the context of the series they really don't play well off each other and Marks misfortune is getting bloody frustrating.

I thought that episode was by far and away the best they've done this series. Fair enough the Jeremy treating Mark like shit and getting away with it is out of order, but I can imagine myself blowing my chances of sex with a hot lassie by categorically refusing to acknowledge the existence of Atlantis. Whilst it wasn't on par with the first three seasons, I did find some of what was said pretty hilarious. The Gestapo comment about the leather jacket is the sort of thing I'd say.

I think the problem is probably that the characters of Mark and Jeremy are now bigger than the show generally. That Mitchell and Webb are now enjoying more praise than when they started Peep Show has probably ended up in them getting more input into the writing. Whilst both of them are very witty, they can't write for shit. In my opinion it's just a classical case of something continuing long after it should.

One more thing - that bird was well too hot to be shagging Mark.

I thought that bit was pretty funny!

I think the quality of Mark's musings has dropped a bit as well. He's carrying the show at the moment and, whilst he's always been integral to it, I think they need to brings out more in the other characters, e.g. Johnson, Nancy, Super Hans. I've not watched the first couple of series in aaaages, but I'm sure there were some episodes when Mark just seemed to drift in and out in Jeremy-centric stories.

Exactly right. I have to say I found the bit where he shattered the crystal skull particularly hilarious btw!

The quote that followed it was sort of what I was getting at earlier. I think it was 'The revenge of Atlantis' he said. He could have said something a bit better.

They've ended two episodes this series with the exact same thing. This time it was something along the lines of 'Ah, the familiar punch to gut of confusion'. The one with the horrible Aussie bird from EastEnders was pretty fucking similar.

Not to mention several episodes with Jeremy shaking his head at Mark after he's just fucked up Mark's life a bit more.
