Haha, The Morning After, they used to play down the road from me a few years ago, though now it looks like they're moving onto bigger things. Not surprising as they were always quite a professional outfit; their sound was always a bit iffy to me, but I'll check out what they sound like these days.

EDIT: Hmm, nope. Still very cheesy and American, with horrible breakdowns. At least they have a bit of that 80s influence, but it comes across as little more than a marketing ploy. Nasty.

Yeah, I haven't been to one of those gigs in ages, except the 'Anger is a Gift EP Launch', which was pretty lame. It shows how hard it is for local bands to actually get anywhere though if they don't bother travelling and playing the right gigs in cities... there must be thousands of local bands across the UK who are the bigwigs of their local scene, but will be playing in the same local bars in 5-10 years. I think most of the problem is that they have no idea what sort of audience they're targetting (and also the fact that they usually have lame commercial influences and aren't playing anything different).
