I daren't buy an axe with a floating bridge because I udnno how to use 'em. Knowing me I'd get pissed off with it and break it hahah.

Also, I'm use to resting my hand on the bridge when palm muting and I struggle to do so with OFRs etc.

As for the custom stuff, try Ran. I dunno if they're a UK company but they make some insane guitars.

or Moser :P

Yeah i used to do the same, got used to it now. Still i do find them needlessly complicated. I don't think i will get a guitar with a FR again.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Have their advantages, but I prefer non-FR bridges!

If for nothing else, the fact that changing strings will take 2 minutes, instead of 20!

My brother says he has this problem, i.e. resting your hand on the bridge causing you to unintentionally change pitch. I don't see how it can happen like. The side of my hand never leavs the bridge and I don't get any of it.

Aye, you can get the strings off and a new set on again in 20 minutes or less but it should take you waaaay longer to stretch them in and shit. Fuck being a touring guitarist like, you'd end up spending your life stringing your guitars or face having to pay some twat to do things for you.

That is a fair point. But i never really had that much of a problem having to stretch string too often.

Plus this is my first fr, so i really have to get used to them.

Any reccomended sites i can go on to do some boffining up on them?

i haven't been there in a while but any guitar related problems i'd have, i'd ask the nerds over on their forums!

I'm not stupid, the guitar has been poorly built and the adjusters actually came out of the holes they were screwed into - hence the hammering.

Just ask me man (pm!), I could probably help with any advice or anything, I've been using Floyd Roses for years and know all the ins and outs :)

And I never get the pitch change problem, and I always rest my hand on the bridge!

Floyd Rose was the dumbest idea ever. Everyone knows string-through is the real mans way.

Don't be daft.

String-'thru' guitars are for jessies with no flair. Even Neal Schon used a Floyd for a bit, such is their contribution to the development of Man.
