This shop is 200 yards up the road from vinyl exchange / afleks palace, opposite the night & day cafe (the one charlie mentioned on lost - End of season 3, well researched on their part - WE AAAARE EVERYBODY).
It's big on underground metal and nowt else with loads of rare vinyl and arty posters of gigs you'll never go if that's your thang.

There was a great record store in the corn exchange I hung out at since I was about 8, then the fucking IRA blew it up.

i've got mixed feelings about that shop, sometimes it has had some cool records in there but sometimes it has been pretty shit as well. I once found a rare thrash compilation for £1 in there which was awesome so i usually still check it out but the last few times i've been i have been dissapointed, they do sell gigs tickets in there though which is cool.
as you mentioned earlier the vinyl exchange is awesome, i would like you all to stay well away from the metal vinyl section though

I miss FOPP
When those shops were around, it was great. Chart cds cheaper then places like Virgin and HMV, and they did a cool range of cds for £5 and £7.

You stand there flicking through the records and when someone stands next to you, you get all protective over your spot and the one's you haven't seen yet.
I've stood next to some stinky horrible people in the metal section of vinyl exchange for anything up to two hours and it gives you headaches, wearing thick leather jackets in the peak of summer is just fucking wrong.

Glasgow is pretty good for music shops and shopping in general though I've not bought a CD in at least two years. I do most of my shopping online these days anyway.
Play.com and eBay have ruined me financially.

Pretty much the same here, but there's the occaisional diamond in the rough. Browsing is more fun in my opinion though...

Good selection of metal. What amuses me is they have about 20 copies of Morbid Angel's Blessed Are The Sick on the shelves for about 16 quid a copy, and everytime I go they don't seem to shift!
Hellraiser - Somewhere near Leeds Bus Station
I hardly venture into here unless it's for gig tickets, where they sell them for face value + 50p, which is good. CD's are a bit dear though
Personally I'd rather buy from HMV's web site unless CD's are cheap in-store
There is a pretty good selection of stuff in the HMV in Leeds, but HMV seems rediculously expensive for metal CD's...usually anything I want is about £15 - £17, and I won't pay that when i know I can find it for under a tenner on t'internet.
There's a Hellraiser in Wakefield too - I prefer that one to the one in Leeds.
Huddersfield has a couple of small record shops that are worth looking in as they sometimes have some decent metal in for about 7 quid a cd. Not that anyone would want to visit Huddersfield

Theres a much better record shop in Liverpool. Have you been too Quiggins since it moved to Grand Central? Its easy to find on google maps, its near the station.
Theres a record shop in there thats ace. They had a few Sepultura 12" bootlegs. Theres one i have my eye on. I was there yesterday trying to choose Nuclear Assault - Game Over or Sepultura - Schizophrenia, so i got em both. I got Metallicas the $5.98 E.P Garage Days Re-Revisited there aswell.
Im going back soon to get more Sep stuff and Nuclear Assaults - The Plague EP, which i was very suprised too see.
Almost forgot, they had 3 Slammer LPs, all signed for £7 each.
Rub my face... up and down
