was a good night in Leeds though!

Just back from Dudley. Great show but, as expected, an awful turnout. There were only about 35 people in there until Destruction came on when I counted about 65-70.

SCARED TO DEATH
Bog standard 80s sounding, mid-paced thrash with the same riff used in almost every song. Like someone mixed Destruction with Whiplash and sucked out the enthusiasm.

DEBAUCHERY
The thrash end of death metal with some Chris Barnes-esque vocals to beef it up a bit. Basic stuff but still better than listening to Job For a Cowboy.

DESTRUCTION
Fantastic stuff. 90 mins of classics and top new songs. Highlights (of which there were many) included: Curse the Gods, Invincible Force, Bestial Invasion, Release From Agony, Mad Butcher, Nailed to the Cross, Life Without Sense and the punch-up on the dance floor.
A lovely, if somewhat violent, evening's entertainment.

tbh gigs at JB's are never really well advertised and a gig there on a Sunday is never going to draw.

I should of gone myself but getting back to south birmingham from Dudley is difficult on a Sunday.

The only place JB's seem to advertise is on their own website. It's very rare I actually find a gig listing in one of the metal rags. shame really because JB's is a great little venue with decent sound and a friendly atmosphere (apart from a stupid fight toward the end of the show last night).
