Software recommedations?

Postby terrorizer on Sun Jan 23, 2011 9:55 am

I've finally taken the plunge and joined the iPod generation, can anyone recommend some freeware for renaming ID3 tags and mp3 file names please?

For mass-renaming, I'd get hold of Musicbrainz Picard - it connects to a huge database and analyses tracks based on their unique "signature" and (somehow!) figures out what album and what track they are.

I used it on my MP3 collection to get all of my tracks in my (anally) OCD naming scheme of "Artist\YYYY - Album Name\00 - Track Name.mp3" and update all of the ID3 tags. :D

Looks good!
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...
