Who the fuck is this sidekick supposed to be?! He is fucking shit... and to top it all off, somehow the Alan Partridge character gets along with this guy?! Invites him to join his show?! It doesn't make any sense... he fucking hates young witty people.

He also isn't doing the character full-on... smiling too much and just being Steve Coogan instead.
Where's the hate - bitterness?!

Unfortunately I dont doubt for a second that this series is entirely taking place in the radio studio...
It's just lacking what was there in series 1 and 2. Alan trying 'bounce back'. Here there's no challenge... he's in studio and nothings happening. No usual awkward situations... nothing to build up story / plot.

Armando Ianucci is on board on this? Sounds like bullshit... or he just lost it.

This is exactly what i was worried about, oh no.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

I thought it was really funny. Just Alan Partridge being quite hilarious. It's not amazing like the series because it's only supposed to be a bit of bonus Alan fun, and for what it is I think it's a great little bit of fun. I think you all just need to cheer up and bit and stop listening to death metal, and put on some Rolf Harris.

On second viewing I enjoyed it more, I think being set purely in the studio takes some getting used to. If you watch it as though he is a genuine DJ talking to the public, it's quite amusing.

There are definitely some classic Partridge traits in there (e.g. the M25 drive) but as Miika said, there is lots of the pure bitterness missing.... so far!

I have to say this is worth persevering with, I've just been catching up on Youtube and there's still lots of classic Partridge in there!

Episode 5 is hilarious so far.

4 is great too!

Cheers James, i had forgotten about the new partridge and was just thinking about how i could best waste 40 mins of the day. Brilliant stuff all round.

I found it genuinely amusing through-out with loads of great moments. i agree that had it been a "proper" series the being stuck in the studio aspect would have become a bit repetitive, but for what it is i think it worked perfectly. Its left me with a strong urge to want to watch more, so i think thats a sign of success.
