I didn't mean for this thread to turn into a typical 'Gimps vs Iain' thing again. It was probably inevitable but, still, I'm not saying that people with long hair should be rounded up for orderly disposal. I've had long hair and reckon that I got it cut off at the right time. Since I've had it cut, no one has said 'you look worse'; on the contrary, everyone has gone out of their way to say I look better now. Now that I've had my hair short for a while, I really can't think why I would have had it long whilst not being in a band.

I was kind of ranting there. Sorry. I mean they made the decision to have short hair to get a job that's all. It's the idea some metal heads have that long hair precludes them from something. I just don't get it.

I know I'm being judgemental but when you see 70,000 Londoners suddenly arrive for Maiden and a lot of good gigs in London struggle to get 100 it pisses me off. That's another subject though.

I don't know anyone that has done well for themselves. That's their business, not mine. All I know is I've done well for myself by being me and people from all walks of life have respected that.

I've sat in front of bankers, lawyers, judges and millionaires. Anyone that had a problem with me... well I didn't want to work with them anyway!

It just isn't a problem to have long hair! You need to make your own mark in life coz it's pretty fucking short.

I wanted to have short hair, what's the problem? I think the fact that I don't give a flying fuck what 'metal' is supposed to look like makes me ten times more 'metal' than you.
