From Flabbertits:
Reactivated Bay Area thrashers FORBIDDEN are rumored to be in talks with Nuclear Blast Records about recording a new studio album for the label. The proposed deal would also include the release of a new full-length live album, to be recorded on the band's upcoming European tour.
FORBIDDEN's last studio album, "Green", was released in 1997 on the G.U.N. label.
FORBIDDEN — Russ Anderson (vocals), Craig Locicero (guitar), Matt Camacho (bass) and Glen Alvelais (guitar), along with special guest drummer Gene Hoglan (STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, TESTAMENT, DEATH, DARK ANGEL) — played two shows with DEATH ANGEL February 28-29 at Slim's in San Francisco, California.

It depends if they do what Death Angel have done, as in not making an old school thrash album to cash in on the current trend and continuing the evolution of the band's sound/style.

Re: Forbidden to record new album??
It is quite a quandry actually. You get classed as being a sell-out for moving to a more mainstream sound from your thrash roots. I would guess that a lot of people would also class a band as being a sell-out or having a lack of integrity if they got back together and went back to their Original sound to cash in on their old style's resurgence in popularity. Either way, you can't really win. A catch 26 situation.
Anthrax are a prime example of how things should not be done.

I'm more excited for Exumer's new album than I am for Forbidden's.

See, this is the fundamental flaw of Thrash in the 2000s. How many people have actually heard of Exumer? Don't Know? I'll tell you. The answer is 12. I don't see the point of a band reforming when at the height of their success in the mid 1980s they literally had 12 fans. It's unlikely that all 12 of those fans are still alive, let alone interested in hearing a third-rate Thrash band to a new album.
