Major Forum Update Complete!

Postby Stevedot2 on Fri Mar 21, 2008 9:52 pm

I have noticed that links don't automatically open in a new window anymore (I use AOL (fuck off!)), can that be changed? I know it's a bit nitpickety so don't worry if it's too much hassle. Also, just a general question, I always have to sign in whenever I visit the forum after geing offline, even if I tick the box to keep me logged in. It works just fine on another forum I go on, any ideas what could be the problem? I have tried using the delete all cookies (something like that) thing at the bottom of the main page.

Cheers.

I haven't found a way of opening links in new windows without breaking the code and making it invalid (the "target" attribute in XHTML has been taken out in the latest version), so I'll have to have a look and see if I can find an alternative. All the ways I can find at the moment use Javascript, but I want to avoid that if at all possible.

If you're using IE7 or Firefox, you can right-click on the link and click on "Open In New Tab".

That should now be fixed, I still had the cookie settings set for my own PC after I had to work out a long way round doing the conversion because of the database size. If you're still having problems, post back and I'll take another look.

Signing me out

Postby MartinC on Sat Mar 22, 2008 9:46 pm

I keep getting signed out of the forum every time I leave the site, despite clicking the 'log me in automatically' box every time I have to login.

I've had to change the cookie settings - I forgot to switch them over after I did the initial switch-over on my own PC. Everyone will be logged out to start with but it should now keep everyone logged in when they tick the "Always keep me logged in" box.
