I'm trying to 'give up' alcohol at the moment. Well, limit myself to social drinking on a Saturday night or whatever. I went six days clean last week which equalled my longest dry spell of the past four years.

It would be the hardest thing ever, but I'd give up alcohol for metal. It would be very hard since I drink pretty much everynight. I love booze. However, if there was no metal, my life would have no meaning at all so I'd have to choose the metal over beer...

Then, I'd just start doing drugs instead. You didn't say anything about choosing either crack cocaine or metal...

I could give up alcohol very easily, but it would totally suck to never listen to heavy metal again.

I've already given up most Metal. I still listen to Dio and Iron Maiden quite regularly. Some other bands too but I prefer Hard Rock now.
