SKYCLAD

Postby TORSO on Wed Aug 27, 2008 11:14 pm

Been listening to Martin era Skyclad loads recently, Prince of The Poverty Line is a great album...really catching songs and the lyrics are really well done with clever rhyming and metaphors...Anyone else a fan?

I liked that civil war dance track you showed me, I'll have another look.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

I've only got their first 2 albums and Old Rope, but bloody hell Martin's lyrics are amazing.

And in strange aeons even death may die

Send it to me,and I'll nip in The Old Angel pub in Nottingham and get Martin to sign it again, thus doubling it's value.

He used invisible ink when you weren't looking.

They all signed it when I wasn't looking, so that could be true.

I saw them back in '94 (Supporting Manowar) and '95 (Supporting Sabbath). They were brilliant both times.
Now he's got the Sabbat reunion thing out of his system, I kind of hope Martin goes back and helps build his bridges with Skyclad again and reforms with them next. They ended up sounding like The Saw Doctors or The Levellers without him.

My Top 3 Skyclad albums:
1. Irrational Anthems
2. The Silent Whales of Lunar Sea
3. Folkemon
3. The Wayward sons of Mother Earth
3. Jonah's Ark
3. Prince of the Poverty Line
3. Burnt Offerings for the Bone Idol

Ok, so I cheated a little. So what?
