Evile SSS, Old School american to the bone. I think that for this scene to thrive there needs to be a healthy mixture of different infuences so that we can form our own identity here in the UK.

Iff all we have is American sounding bands then this scene is gonna fall through just like all the others that have passed through this country and not managed to play such an influential part in the metal scene.

Unfortunately there are some who just wanna hear the 80s bay area again, and would much prefer if the more progressive bands weren't so important to the scene, and also on the flip side theres the other way around (some dont want 80s rip off bay area) naming no names, but thats down to opinion, and opinions are like arseholes, everybodys got one.

I totally agree.both styles are very important at the moment.
Beer your totally spot on there. bands trying to emulate the bay aria sound did kill the uk thrash scene in the early 90's, but i think that was because a lot of those bands felt they had to compete with metallica ect instead of writing what comes naturally.

Oregano indeed, the greatest of all herbs. I also enjoy a variety of toppings underneath my cheese. Today I'm going to finish off the rest of my tuna mayo that I made the other day, wonderful. Although I like to use thicker slices of cheese because it's so lovely when it melts everywhere. And if you make sure the whole slice of toast is covered with cheese, then the toast won't burn.

Evile are not a Bay Area rip off. They sound Old School in style (they aren't Metalcore or Nu-Metal) which is good, but they don't sound like a copy, there's something different there. A blend of Bay Area and European, with a touch of Death Metal sensibility.

The main thing, which we all agree on, is that if the UK wants an important metal scene, it needs to do something new.

Does that mean sounding like newer bands? Fuck no does it. It means that in the confines of the Thrash sound, which by nature is 'old school' we need to make something that's never been done before, or at least something that can be labelled unique to this scene. Otherwise, as Beer Can says, the scene will go nowhere.

And until we have something that we can truly say is 'UK THRASH!' and not 'Thrash played in the UK' then the scene will never live up to it's potential. Like I said - it doesn't have to be completely new, it just has to be different enough to warrant a separate identity, much like the difference between the German Big 3 and the American Big 4.

Don't worry every one, we'll be saving the scene in a couple of months.

And so will we, actually. Well, in a few more months, but still, there you go.

I'm going to make a solo thrash album on my guitar taking influences from everywhere. Everyone will love it.
