In classic supermarket fashion, I feel like building up to this wonderfully evil occasion well in advance, except that my chosen medium is internet shite rather than premature greetings cards and glittery tat (or more accurately in the case of Halloween, unconvincing synthetic spider web and woefully inadequate latex renderings of ghouls).

Ah, Halloween - what a fun excuse for nefandous chantings beneath a gibbous moon while garbed in vampiric regalia. So what does All Hallow's Eve conjure up in your mind? Is it the blast of charnel pit air as you unearth the odious secrets of forgotten burial vaults? Is it the pure terror of brushing the cobweb from an ancient marble tomb to reveal your own name in recessed lettering (which would collect crumbs if used as a work surface) upon the crumbling edifice? Is it the inexplicable urge to join the nocturnal chorus of bats and wolves as they cackle at the fate of their blood-drained victims' souls? Or is it simply a prime excuse to meet up in some park or graveyard and talk shit with fellow forumers... beneath an eerie sun.

I have also decided that Princess Dian should cultivate King Diamond facial hair in the run-up to this god-forsaken night of air guitar ritual and lyrical wailings, and adorn the sacred warpaint on this fated night.

Well my Vic Rattlehead costume will come into fruition this year as Halloween is always quite fun at my university.

Until I can fulfil my dream of turning up to a Halloween party as Napoleon and make it convincing, I'm not bothering with Halloween. My French is fucking gant so it's going to be a while.
