I may just have to try and get to the Astoria gig, though it's extremely close to when I'll be moving all of my gear from uni in Wales back home to Essex, but if I can go, I will go. :D

It was bloody brilliant. Dio is a good lad like. And I talked with Blaze Bayley at the bar.

Birmingham on the other hand, is fucking horrible. Minging shitty balls.

Kill The King was my favourite of the night. Super megalovely.

Ooo, look at the lovely pictures.

Don't think I'll be able to make this, as it's the night I'm moving all my stuff home from uni. Don't know if there are still tickets for the Astoria anyway. :(

I bloody well forgot this was even happening!
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

Brum Academy

A top night's entertainment.
Girlschool were up first and gave us 40 minutes of good old fashioned early 80s sounding heavy rock. Great stuff, or it would have been if the particularly vindictive sound gremlins hadn't tried to ruin things.

Dio gave the crowd pretty much everything they expected. Man on the Silver Mountain, Holy Diver, We Rock, Stand up and Shout, The Last in Line, Rock and Roll Children and Long Live Rock and Roll to name a few.
The only problems I had were with him playing "The Eyes" off his less than brilliant last album when something like Gates of Babylon would have been received a lot better and also sticking the obligatory drum solo in too early in the set, knackering all the momentum. Also, Craig Goldie's guitar solo was surprisingly dull and sloppy.
Ronnie's voice was flawless (his only cock up was forgetting he'd already played Don't Talk to Strangers) and gave his usual brilliant performance we just come to expect now.
I wonder how many other rock singers will sound as good as him when they're 65

Yeah, quite easily the worst song of the night. Still, not bad though.
