Recently I've been listening and downloading loads of random 60s/70s rock, some of it is really interesting and when you consider most of this music influenced the entire generation of metalheads in the 80s, I figured it would be a really good topic on here!!!
*means to insert some kind of question here, but it's not gonna happen*
Umm just discuss I reckon, I'm on my way out (and I don't wana forget this idea for a thread!) so will post in more detail tomorrow!

Blue Cheer indeed!!! I love Vincebus Eruptum... very good release, Hendrix inspired obv, but they have the stoner rock sound totally nailed!!
Bloodrock anyone? It was a random find but it sounds like Sabbath jamming with Deep Purple!!! and the album cover is really metal
Lucifer's Friend are pretty fucking good too...
Ten Years After, anyone heard the woodstock '69 recording of "I'm Goin' Home"?? Holy fuck, Alvin Lee is totally insane on guitar!!!
What about mid to late 70s stuff? Were there any really heavy bands around then (other than Motorhead, I guess they were probably the heaviest band?)??
Also, does the birth/progression of punky rock stuff count? MC5? The Ramones? They kinda were starting something new!
