I have a current urge to listen to some really really dark music, and I'm having trouble finding what I need from my collection.
To give some idea to what I need think eerie King Crimson with darker vocals but with more going on... I don't want anything fast, but I don't want anything soudscapey. And it's got to make me think I'm going to die very shortly. Or that the world is going to come to an end.
If you know the band Comus, imagine a metal version of Drip Drip if that's possible and that's what I want.
Thanks

Okay, here's my serious recommendation, a Doom band called 'Shape of Despair'. Listen to 'Angels of Distress' all the way through and tell me you don't want to cut your own head off.

Seriously, I die inside every time I listen to it. No wonder so many people commit suicide in Finland.

The urge to listen to 'really dark music' is most commonly remedied by:
After five days or so you should be up for listening to proper, non-angst-ridden music again.

Don't lie and don't use that word again.

Appropriate level of darkness, not enough going on... As strange as this may sound... I want to hear violins.
