Off to see the Stone Gods tonight in good old Edinburgh. It is basically the Darkness minus Justin Hawkins. Apparently they are doing a cover of Whiplash in their set so that should be interesting (maybe).

Hopefully getting rid of Justin will allow them to be taken slightly seriously. I doubt they'll ever be able to shed the 'Darkness Sans Justin' tag though...

Aye, expecting a low turn out tonight. Edinburgh isn't that great for gigs anyway these days(I remember the days when Maiden and Metallica used to play 3 nights at the Edinburgh Playhouse...damn you Glasgow for stealing our gigs!!!)

They're playing at Wacken for some reason.

They've got a heavier feel to them but the singer has a low vocal range (not as in compared to Justin, just low all round). Alright for average but I preferred the giant stuffed tigers and spaceships myself.

£14 for a ticket to see them in Manchester is a bit harsh for a new band with 5 songs to promote by anyones standards.

They were really good last night. Must be a bit of a culture shock for them going back to playing to 75 punters in a dingy wee club. Could have done without the couple of tracks that had the Acoustic shit thrown in but then again they only have the songs from the new album to play and fill out an hours set. Decent cover of Whiplash even though they slowed it down a tad.

Nah.. Lauren Harris is playing because Maiden are, as are avenged sevenfold duh.

I mean in terms of the style of music, not the fact that Maiden insist on having their shitty little support acts follow them everywhere like lost puppies
