This is true, in the episode where they went to the parallel universe and Lister did his female opposite Hilly was the opposite ship's computer and Holly fell for her hence him changing his face etc etc

blacktears wrote:I also found this snippet about Kryten's change of appearance - "After an accident involving Lister's spacebike, Kryten was rebuilt by Lister, with a slightly different appearance and voice". We can only presume, therefore, that he was being rebuilt over the time between Series 2 episode 1 & Series 3 episode 1.

This is because the original actor who played Kryten was so apocalyptically SHIT they shelved the character until they got Robert Llewellyn and Kryten actually became funny. Quite rightly too coz he's ace.

Actually, they were going to ask the original actor back, but he was not available to do it.

Isn't the original Kryten Talky Toaster?

After watching all three, I'm glad they ended it with the "and it was all a load of bollocks", because, it was.

That's right, David Ross.

To be fair to him, I think his portrayal of Kryten was more down to how Grant/Naylor wanted him, i.e. upper class English butler, ala Jeeves & Wooster.

Whilst doing "Talky Toaster", I hear he turned to Robert Llewellyn and asked him, "Are you legit?", which is actor's speech for someone who is a contracted stage actor, coming from one of the actor schools.

He hadn't a clue what he was talking about, ha ha

I love the original Kryten. His poor appearance added a nice touch into the whole 'being a spoof of Sci-Fi shows' thing.

Has no one mentioned the exanding crew in Series 1 its 169 than in Series 4 it's 1,167. And Rimmer's past sex life seems to change.
