That's pretty exactly what he's doing! Hopefully he should be back on form for London.
Well what a lovely last 2 gigs indeed, back out of Royston Vasey and playing real places again! Newcastle was amazing, loads of rocking, loads of cool people and loads of headbanging, it was one of the best gigs ever. We sold loads of lovely things too and had a good old hilarious time in a Travelodge afterwards. And tonight we played in York, which was also amazing, and quite hilarious, it was a 14+ show so there were kids running around everywhere going mad, and I think Jamie had a good time. But more importantly, earlier on in the day we went to a Toby Carvery and I had an amazing turkey & gammon pie, and it was so glorious I nearly cried, and then did a horrible poo.
So London is next, I can't bloody wait! I imagine this'll be the biggest gig of the tour (hopefully), and more importantly Deceptor will be there to blow the balls right out through your face. Good lord.

That was bloody amazing, one of the best gigs ever for us, an amazing crowd and loads of lovely people everywhere, London is always the best place to play! Deceptor were ridiculously amazing, their new stuff is fucking brilliant, Raging Paul is a mighty heavy metal overlord. And it was bloody great to see Philly back up there with Gama Bomb, they were brilliant as always. Fun and joy for all. Now to Brighton for some delicious fish & chips!

North, south, EEEEEEeeaaaaaaaaaaaast and WWEEEEEEEEEEEEesssssssssssst.
Very fun gig, Deceptor are pure heavy metal amazement. Mutant are tighter than a Nun's vajayjay and i don't really remember too much of GB as i was a bit sloshed by then.
Also Kursk is the best bloody song I've ever heard.

Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Yesss, I loved this. All bands amazing, new Deceptor stuff sounds brilliant and I'll definitely be getting whatever it is they're selling me. Or giving away free - new tshirt is much appreciated. If only every gig could be like this.

Re: Gama Bomb + Mutant - May 2010
Great night, got a lot of footage which I will edit over the weekend. Slightly marred by a over officious security guard who escorted me out during Mutant and asked my to sign a document basically saying they could charge me £1500 if they think I misused footage of the gig..... that was weird! In the end the manager said I didn't need to sign it as my camera was too small!
Luckily Jamie saved the day by letting me film on his magic sound booth step.

Hey everyone, thanks for such a great response last night! It was really awesome to be back playing live again, and great to be able to play you some new songs too! It seems like Kursk and the other, as yet unnamed track went down pretty well, which is good to see. Thanks to Paul from Gama bomb for booking us for the show! Mutant were absoultely 100% mace-felting, total confidence, authority and power! I thought Satellite was _amazing_, I was definitely ready for re-entry! It was great to see Gama Bomb with Philly, I thought he did a magnificent job considering his throat problems, and the rest of the boys were rock-ulating as ever. Good crowd, good times, much fun was had. See you at the next one!

I had such a good time yesterday - day off work, sunshine, food, friends, raging heavy metal attack, vintage White Dwarf mags, hilarious mosh incident, good times at the pub, Mercyful Fate karaoke on the way home. It was super cool to play our comeback show to such a great crowd and supporting such storming bands. Thanks to Gama Bomb for the gig, and to Jamie for doing the sound. And I agree, Satellite totally bossed it.
The only fail was that I totally neglected to promote UK Thrash haha, I should have brought a bunch of flyers to ensnare some new people... it was cool to seem some younger folks moshing along.

That guy with his shirt off and the tattoo on his back was the coolest guy I've ever seen, ever. He's so metal it hurts.

Re: Gama Bomb + Mutant - May 2010
this gig was excellent,it reached and exceeded my expectations.ive had such a busy week moving house and going back to full time,so this was the ultimate way to spend an evening after all the hard work.seeing these three bands gave me that extra energy i needed considering i was shattered on the way up to the gig and falling asleep on the train and just totally drained in general.the power of powerful metal is so powerful and thats how it made me feel.
i think these 3bands should definitely do another gig together,as their reunion was overdue.get the hat-trick so to speak.just look how far all 3bands have come in the last few years.its win win and more win.
anyway,Deceptor opened with a tight, great sounding, blasting set.i really like thier unique,non-wtereotypical metal sound.to me there were some traces/elements of a bit of thrash, black, nwobhm fused together with a real british stamp on it.the dual vocals work very well together.new songs were greta and for me personally it all felt new and fresh, this was due to me having previously only seen Deceptor twice and that was well over a year ago.but the wait was worth it as they have been busy perfecting their attack and it sure was devastating.i really wanted to go mad pitwise but it was early and i dont think some people were drunk enough.also there were a lot of youngsters.i was still spazzing all over the place, down at the front coz i couldnt help myself.there was a solid few rows of headbangers which is always great in any opening set(as opposed to people just drinking pints/folding arms etc).so Deceptor have definitely gained some extra/new fans.i really want the cd sooooo much.any recording on my mp3 would be great.i cant waut to see and hear more from Deceptor.also thanks to Paul/James for the free shirt.i will be buying all future merch as and when you have it done up.
onto Mutant:its about bloody time! they finally had some crazy action during their entire set, considering the last 1 or 2 london sets were a little unusually on the tame side with not enough "raging" as Tom may put it.just steady headbanging. so it was good to actually go mad for a change.the new tune was cool, the slow part let me catch my breath and saved me from potential passing out,as all these youngsters just dont let up.which is cool coz it means theyre enjoying it to the full too.
is there a pattern here? first we had "super computer" now the new tune after that is called "Satellite",so whats next..."motherbrain CPU mainframe?" or something...
anyway, yeah it was really cool and always on storm,i mean form.
Gama Bomb were legendary as usual, always such an element of fun and humour, considering the music is such an aggressive, brain melting style.thats what makes bands like Gama bomb so enjoyable.not too heavy in a violent, angry way but still damn heavy.even with all the blood, gore lyrics and references and jokes etc, they do it with tongue in cheek yeat at the same time are such a serious force as musicians/performers.
ten out of ten to Philly for straning his vocals to make sure he gave it his best.this i a bit like what i was saying earlier about the gig, crowd, atmosphere etc giving you the strength you may have been lacking.also the with Joe filling in a few lines and crowd knowing all the words,we pretty much had it covered with helping Philly soldier on.
the best thing i saw was a young lad who was 13 singing along to tracks from the survival album.that was soooo cool.not in a paedo way,but just the fact that its not just the forumers who discovered gama bomb at some point or another,it shows the reach they have and is an example of what hard work can achieve.they have a solid fanbase and also a cool fanbase without any OTT or heavy handed ones.
this was such a fun night,it was down to a combination of greta weather, cool friends, great crowd and awesome bands.all killer no filler as they say.the curfew was handy as far as getting home/working at 7 the following day goes.
also i got some footage and was gonna youtube it this eve.but my laptop is in my parents house which im using now.i bought my camera to work with me then got to my parents after work and went to set it all up then realised "shit" as i had left my camera to pc cable at my new place.Damn!grrr. maybe within the next week the clips will be up.

What an awesome gig! Kursk was brilliant, as were the Mutant songs I hadn't heard before. Cheers Deceptor-oids for the T-shirt too! Was great to see everyone again - it's been too long!
