Last year I went to see Destruction with no hopes for the headlining band; Candlemass. In the end I was totally blown away by them, they are one of the best live bands I have ever seen and I am now fully bewitched!
Anyone else got the Candlemass bug?
I heard they have a new singer now, good luck to him because it will be hard to top Messiah! I will have to wait and see and save my judgement till I hear him wail...
Here are some link for those who have not yet heard them:

Candlemass are totally killer! They always remind me of driving round London after the Gama Bomb gig playing the album really loud and shouting haha!
The new vocalist is from a band called Solitude Aeturnus, who are vaguely similar musically - check em out! He has a killer voice and I think it will work really well in Candlemass.

Awesome, thats bloody good news!
I forgot to ask what anyone thought of the new album... I thought it was amazing! It even holds up to Nightfall and Ancient Dreams because its so good! Great raw production which is rare for a modern album and all the songs are good which is also rare for a modern album!
If you haven't got the newest Candlemass album I suggest you get it because it is a perfect way to get into them.

Candlemass are absolute legends in their field. 'Epicus Doomicus Metallicus' is the finest Doom metal album ever recorded - of that there is no doubt. Infact, their first 6 releases are hard beat. Their last effort is great too. Robert Lowe is an awesome replacement for Messiah.
