as this site is called "the UK's online thrash metal community" I think we should all really pull our fingers out and get it booming. There definetly isn't just 267 thrash fans in the UK.
To be labelled THE community, we should make it that.
How many people here can say they've gone out of their way to get people here? I haven't overly (Just myspace bulletins) but I am from now on.

yeah, considering there was like 700 or so people just at exodus in London there should be more than 267 people on this board!
I've told quite a few people about this board, but they didn't sign up

how would we go about doing it? The only thrash fans I know are on here! I'd post a flyer at my college or something but it would be completely pointless.
I might go round the different thrash band forums plugging the site. that would surely get some punters in.

flyers at gigs would be a good one. remember those huge gigs where you walk outside and theres people handing out like 5643796743063 flyers for something?
about half get left on the ground, but shortly after the gig you always remember WHAT flyer it was that was being handed out and more than likely a person will be sat on the net the next day, fucking bored, and remember it, and visit the site; unless they took a flyer. if you make the flyer ...."stand out-ish" enough for say "www.ukthrash.co.uk", they'll remember it.
Plus there's myspace messages. Bulletins don't work as well because people ignore them. If you personal message people they feel more obliged to do it.

I agree, flyers are a very good method - ideally I'd like to get some nice shiney ones done, similar to Jamie's Rage ones, they were sweet

Hopefully the Terrorizer article will drum up some interest.

To be fair, I signed up at about 2am this morning, so not really had any time to post here, let alone promote
I'd be careful with flyers, there are laws about permission to hand them out on the street I think, it's probably worth looking them up. Sorry to be negative about it, I stil think it's a good idea

I'm going to
Tear your fuckin' eyes out,
Rip your fuckin' flesh off,
Beat you 'till you're just a fucking lifeless carcass,
Fuck you and your progress,
Watch me fucking regress,
You were made to take the fall,
Now you're nothing!!

The law is - don't look them up, just hide if a policeman walks past I'm sure they wouldn't care if you're merely promoting a website and a forum, it's not quite the same as advertising products and things...
Any chance anyone can make a fancy internet flyer for Myspace bulletins?? Saying a bit about the site, and the forums, and everything (all the wonderness)!!!! That would be a rather big step, then all us spazzers can spam the bulletin board!!!

I'd do it but I have zero imagination, and even less artistic ability

If someone designs you some flyers I can print off around 50 black and white and 25-30 colour and hand them about Belfast for free - then about another 100 Black and white to go in any BornInBlood mailouts.
