If people made threads about decent metal bands (Dream Theater, Maiden, Saxon, Samson, Sabbath, Dio, Rainbow, Leatherwolf, Borknagar, Angra) you'd get a lot more of an indepth discussion.

but then this is a forum for talking about thrash bands isnt it?

things we should know:
1 never get anoyed with the internet or people on it.thats like giving off at the TV.
2 cloven hoof are clearly NWOBHM band
3 leatherwolfs' "triple axe attack" is under rated

riding with the annngelsssss

If the UK thrash bands spread out and start gigging with bands of other genras they'd get a lot more exposure. If your only playing with thrash bands then your only playing to one crowd.
In London Jamie does plenty of wicked thrash nights and theres no need for any more.
Seriouly spread yourselves out more.

No need for an indepth discussion about those bands Lev. They all rule.

The end.

Peace and love for 2009?

Yeah, it's a fair point. So if you can't talk about the bands you love because it's just blatently obvious that they're amazing, you can only really slate the shit bands that are shit. Thus...

Person 1 "I like Iron maiden
Person 2 "As do I"
Person 1 "Then it agreed, we like Iron Maiden"

UK fail.

Person 1 "I like Iron Maiden"
Person 2 "Silence you slag / yo momas so fat..."
Person 1 "You dickhead, I'll smash you in with a drum stand..."

UK win.

The only other types of metal around is like sub par death metal stuff. Which all sounds the same and 8/10 times the singer is shit .

I am finding it difficult to find some NWOBHM sounding bands or "heavy metal" sounding bands and what i have found sounds wicked, but does any one know of any bands like that? Cause its tough

Well what have you heard so far as there are quite a few good ones really.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

Yeah clearly, I was just proposing that A Sultan's Ransom breaks the nwobhm mould a bit in that it has more of a sci-fi speed metal edge at times. The debut is one of the greatest orthodox nwobhm albums without a doubt!
