Like Sabbath but not
I've recently discovered a band called Telestrion who have that Sabbath vibe without over-playing the ultra doom approach that most Sabb-alikes have. They have one album out, it's eponymous and well worth checking out.

There's this amazing Sabbath soundalike band, they're called "Dio". I bet they shit all over Telestrion.

Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

I always do. I rarely listen to Sabbath that doesn't have Dio on vocal.

Re: Like Sabbath but not
I've always been of the opinion that:
Sabbath with Dio > Sabbath without Dio
Dio without Sabbath > Dio with Sabbath
The first two Dio albums and Dehumanizer are all worthwhile. I don't really listen to either Dio or Sabbath out with those three albums.
Sabbath with Dio > Sabbath without Dio
Dio without Sabbath > Dio with Sabbath

Ronnie is basically a fantastic man. Rainbow were amazing with Ronnie, Sabbath were amazing with Ronnie, and Dio are amazing.

Re: Like Sabbath but not
Dio owes a lot of his success to the man in the bottom left of my signature picture. Shame they hate each other now, though. Viv Campbell's all like 'Dio is the most evil man ever to have lived' and RJD is all like 'What's that prick saying?! I dislike Def Leppard!' It's a shame Dio wasn't actually on South Park that time but Trey Parker did a pretty good impression any way.

Agreed, he is my fave all time metal vocalist. That doesnt mean that sabbath with ozzy should be ignored though. They are really 2 totally different styles.
And Iain, dio was already an established major figure in rock when vivian campbell was still at primary school. That statement above is just beyond ridiculous. He is a good guitarist, no doubting that, but c'mon

Number of good albums Dio has released as Dio with Vivian Campbell - 2

I'm just not sure Dio would have the name he has in his own right now if it weren't for those first two Dio albums. He'd probably just be like Joe Lynn Turner or something.
