OK, here is my account of the Evile tour with Megadeth, from Europe to the UK and back to Europe again. One month of manic madness!
I wont go into detail about all the shows and everything that went on because the internet would probably break, here is a quick summary...
I flew out to Denmark, I read the New Scientist on the plane and sat next to a metal head with halitosis who talked a lot, not a good combination! Waited in the terminal for a bit and eventually met up with the Evile guys and Baz, our tour manager/driver/madman/genius go-to guy. After saying our hellos I was informed that we would be heading to Flemming Rassmussen's Sweet Silence studios, what a trip!
It was truly awesome meeting Flemming and his family, they were really nice and bought us some pizza, amazing hospitality and some cool conversations from those guys, great people. I was awe struck as I walked down one of the corridors in the studio looking at all the gold, platinum and silver discs awarded to Flemming for his work on Metallica's records, it was a killer experience! Walked around Denmark for a bit and stayed at the studio that night. I didn't want to leave in the morning but the show must go on! My job on the tour was to do merchandise and to help out wherever I could, I learned so much, it was great experience for me seeing what a life is like on a big tour.
Our days off were spent traveling around in our bus. It was really cool. It had two tv's, a dvd player, lots of HD's with plenty of films on them and a Playstation 2, stocked with lots of cool retro video games (sorry for playing Street Fighter so much!). We watched movies, ate Haribo and drank Terror Juice, one of own concoctions. It took a few nights to get used to sleeping in the bunks but I got used to it. When we weren't traveling around we were stopping by in different cities. My favorite of which was Paris. Getting to the top of the Eiffel tower was breathtaking and the city was completely overwhelming as it had so many amazing places to visit. Got to go there again!
We did manage to get some good drinking done too between all the traveling and shows. I will never forget the drunk snowball fight in Italy at five in the morning, that was too funny. In Amsterdam we watched a great band from Japan called POLYSICS who were great live and blew me away. Another great city was Hamburg, the Reaperbahn was mental and we found a cool bar full of really friendly (REALLY friendly) metal heads.
As far as the gigs went, Evile rocked so hard, they played super well and spread UK THRASH METAL around Europe. I felt really proud to see a band from our small island playing to that many people with Megadeth. I was feeling so tired some days and I didn't even have to play any shows, they were banging out intense thrash almost every night, insane! Megadeth were good too, of course they are excellent musicians and they have a very professional vibe about them, it was awesome getting to see them live so many times.
The Megadeth guys were awesome and we had a lot of fun with them, talking shit and drinking Crown, Dave is an awesome guy, he really is, he has a huge presence and was incredibly sharp and witty, he didn't mention God or anything like that once. Shawn Drover is one of the coolest guys ever. I met some awesome people on that tour, almost everyone I met was a complete character with so many great stories and a lot of shit to chat.
Anyway, I can't be bothered to write anymore. All I can say is that Evile are awesome guys and I thank them for taking me with them, it was probably the most fun I have had in my life! Sorry if this is a shit account, I cant even sort through the memories in my head let alone type them out. Maybe I will write more.
Oh yeah, I locked myself into a toilet once and had to be busted out.

You will have to let me know where this metal bar is in Hamburg. We need it for post Wacken boozing!
Glad to hear you had a good one, hope you get back used to a bed that isn't moving soon enough.

Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.
